Clark vs Warren 11-7-19

The Cougar’s JV Football team wrapped up the 2019 season on the road against Warren. The offensive rushing attack was led by RB Trevor Kotzur, RB Tracy Robinson, and QB Jayden Bonilla while QB Keishaun Thompson and WR Wayne Houston connected through the air. The defense finished off the season with another great effort against the Warriors as DL Tyreke Gunthorpe, DL Micah Nash and DL Michael Culbertson kept the rushing attack to minimal gains all night. LB Julian Contreras and LB Robert Braggs each accounted for 1 sack and LB Jake Morales led the team with 7 tackles.

The Freshman A team finished off an undefeated district season with a hard fought win against Warren on Thursday 7-6. The Cougars went up 7-0 on a long touchdown run by C. Goertz. The score remained 7-0 until late in the fourth quarter. Warren scored late and went for the win on a 2pt point play, but were stopped short when D. Facundo made the open field solo tackle. Warren ended up getting the onside kick and drove down within field goal range. D. Facundo again came up clutch with the game winning block on the field goal attempt. The cougars ended up undefeated in district play. The B team game was called due to darkness at halftime in a 6-6 tie. D. Lee connected with Q. Ware on a long touchdown pass in the first quarter. The cougars drove late in the half and were stopped inches short of a touchdown on the last play of the game. This was the 2nd game of the year that the cougars ended up in a tie, but reverting back to old playoff tie-breakers they would have won the game on penetrations. Both Freshman teams had a great season, and the future looks bright for the Clark Cougars!
